Bio
Dr Thiruvengadam, known as Dr Murali, has been practising as a General Practitioner in Western Sydney for the past eight years. He completed his medical degree at Dr M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai in 2000, then moved to the United Kingdom to pursue further postgraduate training. During his time there, he worked across a broad range of specialties including geriatrics, trauma and orthopaedics, rehabilitation, acute medicine, and general surgery.
After relocating to Australia, Dr Murali continued his training at Ryde Hospital before transferring to Westmead Hospital, where he gained further experience in both medical and surgical specialties. He also completed training in Paediatric Emergency at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He later joined the Australian General Practice Training Program and obtained his postgraduate qualification in General Practice through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Murali speaks Tamil,Telugu,Malayalam and Hindi fluently and can also converse in Gujarati.
He is passionate about medical education and contributes actively to teaching medical and nursing students.
Most recently, he received an extension of appointment as a Conjoint Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Western Sydney University, reflecting his ongoing commitment to education and community healthcare.
